It has been almost a year since my Buddy has been gone. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. I miss my Buddy, my best friend. There were many times you looked after me when I needed help the most. You were always a very caring, giving, loving person. Never asked for anything in return. I believe that everyone owed you a little something. I miss your smile, your laugh, your many adventurious stories that you told. I'll miss going hunting and fishing with you. Those are the best memories right there. What fun we had. I haven't got the nerve to go to your home to visit with Connie. I know that if I do that, I'll break down. There is a deep void that will never be replaced. So, I leave this here my Buddy, my best friend with a great big hug. Kiss on the check. I love you, and especially, I'll miss you forever.

My friend of 13 years, Eddie's passing leaves an emptiness in my life. We've shared the love of hunting together and lot's of great times. Eddie was always patient with me, letting me tag along and overtake his favorite Coral Stand, even though he was there first. And the Lord only knows how many deer that he has had to clean for me when I got "trigger happy". That's how loving he was with his friends. Eddie was always ready with a new story about one of his many "adventures" and no one could tell a story like Eddie could. He could easily make anyone laugh and that is a true gift from God that not many people have. He was a blessing to have as a part of my life and he has always been a good friend of mine and Steve's and we will miss him greatly. Here's to you Eddie and may God grant you all the "skiddles" you want in his Kingdom. I Love You Buddy, Pam

Ms. Connie, Lisa & Family:
I received a phone call very early Thursday morning about Mr. Eddie's accident/death and I was overwhelmed with emotions. I can not begin to explain my emotions at this point. I'm just heartbroken. My mind started going back to his accident in 2003 when I pulled him out of his truck. I kept thinking why couldn't I be there this time? Where was I at Wednesdsy night? I can't begin to tell you all the thoughts that ran through my mind at that point. All I know is that I just wished that I could have been there to help him again.
I apologize that I was unable to attend both days, on Friday and again on Sunday. I wanted badly to be there for the Memorial but was home sick and didn't want to take the chance of getting anyone sick.
Lisa, thank you so very much taking the time to come by and see me on Sunday before you headed back home. Your visit meant so much to me. I wish we could have had a longer visit but hopefully, we'll have another chance to sit down and talk, talk, talk again. I know that you will miss your dad terribly. I'm sorry for your pain and wish that I could take it away. Just know that I'm only a phone call away and if I can do anything for you, please don't hesitate to call me.
Love you.

Dear Williams Family:
My father, Rev. J.B. Fortner pastored the Williams family in Aiken, SC in the 60's at the Aiken Church of God. We loved this family. We later moved to Langley, Sc and stayed in touch. I remember Eddie, James and JR well. Eddie was such a sweet person as well as them all. Eddie could always make you laugh. Never a dull moment around him! My family and I send our love and prayers to you. It broke our heart to find out about this tragedy.
May God Be with you all!

Connie and Ruth, I am so sorry about Eddie. My heart goes out to your entire family. This has not been a good year for all of us here on earth because God has picked some of the best roses for His heavenly garden. But we will see our love ones again. That is the only way I can make it everyday is knowing God made a promise that all that love Him will be united again one day with their love ones who have gone ahead of us. I'm sorry that I can not attend the service Sunday, but you both will be in my heart and prayers. If either of you need someone to talk to I'm here for you since I know so well what you are going threw. Your family will be put on the prayer list at my church tomorrow. My heart goes out to ya'll. Love, Jean Gunter

Memories are all we have left of a loving, caring brother. He will be greatly missed by everyone in the family and his very dear friends that he loved and shared moments of laughter and sad times. He was in constant pain while here on this earth and now he is not in anymore pain. God be with him and his family to see them through this painful time.I wanted to thank his wife, Connie, for always being there when he needed her and for loving him for all the years they were together. God bless everyone and Connie always remember the great times you two had on the fishing trip and please thank the men who let him have this wonderful experince for all of us. It met a lot seeing him so happy in the pictures from that trip.
