Mom will always be in our hearts, memories and prayers as one who loved her family.
She was a great family historian with a great collection of pictures. The pictures and her writtings will be enjoyed for generations to come.
Mom's spirit will always be with us.

I cherish the baby blanket she made me and will always have memories of visits with her and Grandpa Horstman when I was young. May God bless and keep her.

I recently took out the green blanket that Valna, my Grandmother, made for me when I was a baby for my new son her soon to be newest great-grandchild. I remember it fondly. She had already knitted one for my daughter Chloe. I think my clearest memory was as a child in her backyard, that as I recall had quite a slope. That and her spoon collection. Valna always had a good story, especially about her family. My wife Tracy and I were especially thankful of everything she wrote in the Grandmother\'s Book of Memories we asked her to fill out for our children. I\'m sure it is something they will treasure. She is in our thoughts.
Love,
Brian and Family

Our hearts and prayers go to all the families! She was such a loving and caring person and had such a beautiful smile. She deeply loved all her family and was so proud of them. Valna was Valna, she put on no fake upfront for anyone, and was such a down to earth person. This made her so very special.

With Valna\'s passing, I feel like the our family has lost its heart and its history book. She was the oldest surviving Boles, and the repository of all the family lore. No one else, I am sure, will remember all the long lost grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, family friends, family events and migrations the way Valna did.
She was also one of the warm hearts of our family. She always seemed to have a smile for everyone and a cheerful outlook. She dispensed comfort in more solid ways too -- knit teddy bears and clowns, \'slickers\' and cobbler.
She will be unforgetable and irreplaceble, and I am deeply saddened that my kids won\'t have got to spend more time with her, to grow up with her around as I did.

My fondest memory of her, she treated me as one of her own, even though I was not born to her. Therefore, she will always have a special place in my heart.

If I were to write a book about my most unforgetable characters, she would be at the top of my list. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Adventuresome would be a good discription for her. She will be missed by all at Shadow Oaks.
