I was an apartment mate of Chuck when we were going to Hahnemann Medical school. We lived in a two room apt. He was hanging out in the emergency a lot. He loved medicine. I was shocked to read of his death. He taught me karate and some judo. He ended up breaking one of my ribs
I should have kept in touch with him. One time we went to Boston where I still had a dental practice.
When he started working in the e.r. In lex Ky I visited him. I am glad to know that he has a daughter and son in law
I c that he is active in in his church and community.
I am sure that all of this miss him. Such a fine person!

Please accept my deepest sympathies in you loss. Dr Hewitt was an inspiration and good man. He helped countless people and did his job well. I started working at Family Medcenter out of college. I will always remember him and how he would talk with me about a career in the medical field. He always made time. He will be missed greatly but has left a huge mark on Aiken and all the lives he touched.

I did not know Dr. Hewitt well, but on a visit to UU-Aiken he took the time to introduce my son to Joseph Priestly and showed him how to make oxygen in a balloon - something my son remembers well to this day.

Dr Hewitt was our friend as well as our physician. Coming to his office always was a pleasurable event, not something freightening. Even though we knew he was in pain, he always had a smile when we saw him out at various places. He will be missed.

Dear Naomi,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Chuck\'s passing. I have long counted you both among my dearest friends. Chuck\'s was indeed a life well lived, and I am sure that he will be sorely missed. He will, of course, remain very much alive in the good work that you and he have started and that you will continue.

Dr. Hewitt was indeed a wonderful doctor. More than that he was a compassionate friend and counselor. For 18 years I followed him from downtown to South Aiken as he ministered to both my body and soul. He was always up. I, like many, am a better person for having known him. And I have every assurance that we will meet again in that better day. To all his family, I say thank you for sharing such a wonderful man with Aiken. My prayers are with you all.

DR Hewitt was a great Dr and knew how to console and care for his patients. After his retirement I was always glad to see him when he came by the office. I will always remember him. Many of his pts asked about him from time to time after he retired and they missed him as their Dr.
We enjoyed the hospitality that both of you showed at the last two Christmas parties.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.

This is such a shock to me, Dr.Hewitt was the BEST Doctor and cared so much about everyone. I will always remember him coming into the office and waiting in the wating room and sitting there talking to his old patients and making sure you took him in order. Or when my daughter was sick and him going in to the office on sunday to treat her. He was always willing to go that extra step to make sure his patients were taken care of. I remember him at my babyshower, he was the only Doctor I knew that cared about me the way he did. I want his family to know that he will be very missed by everyone!!!!!

I am so glad that Mom and I got to visit with Chuck and Naomi in May. My Mother was so proud of him and told everyone she met about her son, \' The Doctor \'. We both have a lot of happy memories of being down in Aiken with Naomi, Cherie and Jessica. I am so lucky to have had a brother like Chuck. We both know that he cared for a lot of people and helped them. We love you all and we are thinking of you at this time. Love, Your Favorite Sister and Mom
