He lived across the St. from us on Silverton St. in Jackson. We gave him a puppy and it followed him to school every morning. He would carry it back home in his arms two or three times before he got on the bus. We laughed about him doing that all the time.

Dear Kathy, John, and other family members,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of DeDe\'s sudden death. I have only found out today, 7/15. Had I known of this event, I would have attended the service. Mere words could never express my deep love and respect for such a fine man as DeDe was. My son, Timothy, LOVED playing football in Jackson. This love was directly implanted from DeDe McKinney. I never saw him act or say anything ugly at the stadium. He gave and gave of himself unselfishly so that the boys and girls of the Jackson and surrounding areas could grow up playing and loving sports. It was my privilege to work with him while Timothy played for the Jackson Mustangs. Even though those memories were made long ago, they are as precious and sweet today as they were then. I too lost my father at the age of 55 and unexpected, so I know exactly the stunned feelings that you have. We will miss DeDe and the children of our area will miss his devoted spirit. However, we must continue on and remind others of the need for recreation sports in our community. We can best honor this wonderful man by supporting sports and striving to set a good example as he did. I will miss his wonderful smile and bear hug each and every time I saw him. My prayers are with each of you.
Love,
Joy Bass Rosier

My Dear Daddy,
This doesn\'t even seem real it\'s like it is all a bad dream and I will wake up and you will be here. You were taken from us much to soon It doesn\'t seem fair. But I know we must not sit around and wonder why this happend but remember all the wonderful times we shared. You will live in our Hearts forever and atleast we have the memories of you and that is one thing I will always remember. Kathy I know how much you loved daddy and how much he loved you I will always be here if you ever need me. I love you. I want to leave this poem for My Daddy and never forget I will Always Love You!!!
"DADDY"
Dadddy...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life nothing will ever be the same What happened to those lazy days when I was just a child; When my life was consumed in you in your love, and in your smile.
What happened to all those times when I always looked to you; No matter what happened in my life you could make my gray skies blue.
Daddy, today I hear your voice and turn to see your face; Yet in my turning...it seems the sound has been erased.
Daddy, who will I turn to for answers when life does not make sense; Who will be there to hold me close when the pieces just don\'t fit.
Oh, Daddy, if I could turn back time and once more hear your voice; I\'d tell you that out of all the dad\'s you would still be my choice.
Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place; Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.
Today, Jesus, as You are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my Daddy and give him all my love.
I Love You and Miss You So Much Daddy I will Always and Forever Love you.
Love Your Little Girl,
Chastity

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. During this difficult time the Bible is a wonderful source of comfort. Jesus promises us at John 5:28,29 that "...all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...." This promise will be fulfilled right here on the earth in the very near future. May this hope of seeing your dear loved one again, as well as your fond memories, bring a measure of comfort to you and your family.
