Albert was the only teacher at USC that ever made me feel special, he told me to shine. I've carried that gift from him for 45 years now and will always be grateful for knowing him. He was a good man.

Rick, your Dad rates in the top 10 of people I have encountered across my lifetime who have had the greatest influence on me. He more than anyone else insisted that I think for myself and would not settle for anything less than that. My time with your Dad as a student in his classes at USCA began a maturing process that was essential to any success I have experienced as an adult. I cherish my time with him and my memories of him.
I regret that I did not find out about your Dad's passing sooner. My condolences to you and your family.

I will always have fond memories of "the nutty professor"as we called him. My Mom moved in to the house next door to he & Betty in 1965. They both watched my brother, sister and I grow up, get married and have children of our own. I spent countless days as a young person @ their house playing or helping Betty cook while enjoying stories that Al would tell. No one will ever be able to take his place. I'll always remember him jogging, singing opera as he worked, his greeting of "hello there" and of course his abundant supply of headbands. Mary Beth, Ellen & Emily I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to the funeral, but my heart was there. You are in my prayers. Love, Kimbo

I was saddened to hear of Al's death. One of my earliest memories of my career at USCA was Al's friendly presence in the English Department office suite. He always had some funny story to share, and his interest in his students was infectious. Years after his retirement, one of my colleagues would periodically ask about him; she called Al the "banana man" because of the yellow Nehru jacket that he often wore in the late 70s. He will be remembered with a smile.

I have known Mr. Cornetti for over 12 years, I was a teller at Regions Bank when I met him and he would always wait on me to help him everytime he came in the bank. Then I went into real estate and helped him sell 2 of his houses. He always had a story for me or advice to give me and he will be greatly missed in our community. My heart goes out to the family.
