Funeral Services for Eric Michael Griffin will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 2pm at Millbrook Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Chandler and Tommy Pillow officiating. Pallbearers will be Bryan Smith, Bobby Smith, Myles Fair, Darrell Tutt, Brannen Blazer & Geoff Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Aiken Prep Middle School and High School students. Memorial donations may be directed to the Aiken Preparatory School, Eric Griffin Memorial Art Fund, 619 Barnwell Ave. NW Aiken, SC 29801. Visitation will be this evening, 6-8pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Eric, 17, of Aiken, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The son of Jeffrey and Denise Ward Griffin, he was born in Oak Ridge, TN and had lived in Aiken his entire life. He was an honors art student at Aiken Preparatory School where he won many awards for his artwork. He recently completed a summer program in architecture and design at Cornell University, where he earned college credit. Eric was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church where he participated in World Changers Mission Projects in Tennessee and Puerto Rico with the Millbrook Youth. He also worked as a cashier at Publix Supermarket in Aiken. In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by a sister; Allison Griffin, Aiken, his paternal grandparents; Cliff and Jane Griffin, Atlanta, GA, his maternal grandparents; Carlos and Vivian Ward, Macon, GA. Eric also leaves two very special friends; Pat Sibal, Martinez, GA and Dottie Andreassen, Aiken.
