AIKEN, SC- Elmer F. Fischbach, age 93, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday, September 21, 2015. Mr. Fischbach was born December 30, 1921 in Dundee, IL to the late Frank and Anna Dumoulin Fischbach. Mr. Fischbach was a former resident of Maple Park, IL prior to making Aiken, SC his home in 2002. He retired from the plastering industry and was a life long farmer. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and was an avid Cubs fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fischbach was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Swanson, Erma Ream, and Ione Wendt; and four brothers, Ralph, Floyd, Alvin, and Frank Fischbach. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Pfortmiller Fischbach; a daughter, Debra Foutch (Kevin), Aiken, SC; two sons, Michael Fischbach, Belvedere, SC; and Bradley Fischbach (Jennifer), South Elgin, IL; five grandchildren, Nicole and Nathaniel Foutch, Ryan, Justin, and Teagan Fischbach; and a sister, Lois Ann Egoroff, East Dundee, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM until service time.
