Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Richard J. Tengel will be celebrated Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 11 am at St. Christopher?s Church, Cleveland, OH with Father Richard Bona, celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the gathering room at St. Christopher?s. Entombment will follow at a later date in the columbarium of St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. Mr. Tengel, 69, of Aiken, SC, died Sunday morning, September 25, 2005 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center. Born in Geneva, OH, son of the late Louis and Mae McGreevey Tengel, he spent his career as a sales and marketing executive with several Cleveland area companies, including the Ridge Tool Company, Moen Faucets and Federal Process. In 1993, Mr. Tengel and his wife Linda relocated to South Carolina to spend their retirement years. He enjoyed theater and music, traveled extensively, and was an avid tennis player, competing in seniors events. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Linda Dunn Tengel, sons, Cary Gerard Tengel, Chicago, IL, Mark Edward Tengel, Charlotte, NC and Jeffrey James Tengel, Cleveland, OH; and grandchildren, Louis, Joseph, Madeline, Megan, Ryan, Brian, Michael, Annie, Allison, and Elizabeth Tengel. A son, John Francis Tengel, preceded him in death in January of 1999. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 267 Laurens St., SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
