Dear Mr. Ebenhack, David, Ellen, Peter and families.
This is Barbie Winter writing to let you know that your dear wife/mother was one of my favorite neighbors. I will always remember her ringing laugh and her cooking. It seemed to me as a child that she never baked just one pie but many at one time. I remember them lined up in your kitchen just out of the oven. I also remember the kindness she showed to her neighbor's little girl and have appreciated it. Things like that helped shape my life. I will be at the services on Wednesday but want you to know until then that we are thinking of you. My father especially regrets that he cannot come but wants to pass along his sympathy. You loved her much, but God loves her best. You will miss her forever. Sending love your way, Barb

I am so sorry for your loss. Ellen, you were a year or so behind me in school. I recognized your Mom\'s picture immediately!! The years were very kind to her. I hope the many good memories you have of her will eventually replace the sadness you are dealing with now. God\'s peace, Cindy

I share so many memories with the Ebenhacks--and I shall miss Jean.
I remember the squirrel hunts, the backyard pool, the car pool--when you are old, your world goes away.
And I certainly know how lonely it will be for Don. Jean and I had good men!

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss, Mr. Ebenhack, and I extend my deepest sympathy to you. Your wife had the most wonderful lilt to her voice and laugh, which I shall always remember for it conveyed such optimism, such joie de vivre. I shall also always remember the many kindnesses she extended as a good neighbor to my late father and mother as well as to my brother and me. As recently as this past Christmas, Mrs. Ebenhack came to the rescue when the oven at 114 conked out on Christmas Eve. I hope the thoughts and prayers of all who mourn your loss will bring you a measure of peace.-- Please know we are thinking of you, Beth Tompkins Bates
