I saw this obit in our paper and know that Gene was a cousin of mine. I never got to know him personally but know of him from my dad Melvin Kolkman, who was a brother to Al, Gene's dad. Melvin has been gone now almost 6 years and know that he would have known Gene. I'm sorry to hear of your loss as a family and know that he will truly be missed by each of you.
Our deepest sorrow and prayers are with you and your family. I knew Geno from Wed golf and always enjoyed playing with him in the same 4-some. He will be greatly missed.

Very fond childhood memories of Gene at the union hall and last time I remember seeing him was at portside I think for the rib-off. He was a pleasure to know and he will truely be missed! Happy memories and prayers to all who knew and cared for him!
