I have known Roger Mills for 40 wonderful years. During this time we've shared much together. He was for the most part a quiet gentle man. We had many conversations over the years and I learned that Roger was also a serious compassionate man and didn't confide in just anyone. I was one of the lucky people that he would open up and reveal himself with. Over the past 7 years or so, he would tell me how with each new grandchild his life was happy and fulfilled. Speaking cautiously though, he would tell me of how Greta's health was declining and how much he loved her. He would say if something were to happen to GertGreta he knew that he would have to go on for his kids and grandkids, but somehow there would be a void in his life that he could never regain. Roger truly loved her. They were almost inseperable and best friends. Roger and I took a trip together about 6 weeks before he left us. We talked about family, our age and death. He also mentioned his brother Archie being stricken with cancer and now shocked and concerned he was. Even through all of this Greta, Archie, he would never lose that magnetism that always attracted everyone to him. Eternal optimist he was. With that infectious personality. Roger D. Fuzzy Mills was a hero to me, always there to listen or help anyone that he could. I love him like a brother. He was my best friend and I always thanked him for taking care of my dear sister. My heart is broken, and God will heal that. I will miss you Fuzzy. May god hold you in his arms until I see you again. Your biggest fan.

Greta, Donna and Paula:
Wow...where to begin. All the childhood years growing up right behind you in Crosland Parkpractically in your backyard. Fuzzy even taught me how to fight there.
Our Lord got a good one when he came and took Roger. I can hear them laughing and cutting up now. Please take comfort in knowing that Roger is so happy to be Home, where he can watch over and be with each one of you. Every time you feel that gentle breeze, or crack that little smile that happens for no reason, that is Roger letting you know he is still with you. Time will heal the hurt, but will never take away the memories.
Time has sped by and taken us all in different directions, but I will never forget the wonderful memories and good times with Fuzzy, Gert, Peanut and Psue.
My love to you all!
Teddy

Mother, better known as Aunt Eula, wishes to express her sympathy to each of you during this time of great sadness.
Our lives have taken us in different directions but throughout these many years we still feel connected because of the loving association of our families while growing up and visiting our parents/grandparents/cousins on Hornsboro Road, Pageland, SC.
Roger was ALWAYS smiling, happy, and pleasant. His sense of humor kept everybody laughing. That legacy will hopefully bring joy, peace and consolation in the coming days.
We send our love and prayers to each of you.

To Uncle Fuzz, the most good-looking man I know....
I feel so blessed to have had you as a part of my life. I could not have asked for a better man to have as my uncle. You always put a smile on my face and your presence just always had a way of lighting up the room. I will never forget all the good times that Megan, Jordan and I had with you and Aunt Gert.
I love you Uncle Fuzzy and I look forward to the day when we will meet again. Until then, I am at peace knowing that you are in an amazing place and that you are not suffering. I am left with so many good memories of you....
Please keep a careful watch over Aunt Gert.I will say goodbye for now but I will see you again soon...I am attaching a poem that brought me some comfort after reading it. Hopefully it will bring some comfort to others
His Journey\'s Just Begun
By Ellen Brenneman
Don\'t think of him as gone away--
his journey\'s just begun
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost--
and he was loved so much.
See you soon Fuzz..I love you and will miss you so much.

Donna, Paula and Greta,
It was a pleasure knowing your Dad and Husband. He was full of love and spirit. He always had a smile on his face and was so kind. I pray that your grief and pain will be brief and that the fond memories will last a lifetime.
I can not forget that he should have been named Grandfather of the decade! God Bless, Michelle Moore
