LEXINGTON, SC- FLORENCE B. HOFFMEIER, 92, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born December 13, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Buckenheu. Mrs. Hoffmeier received her master's degree from Syracuse University. She was the librarian for St. Angela Academy in Aiken, South Carolina for many years and retired after 17 years as a librarian at the Aiken Junior High School. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoffmeier was preceded in death by her husband, John Elmer Hoffmeier and a sister, Mary Louise Berry. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Jo and Thomas Beard, Maryville, TN, Carol Hoffmeier, Redding, CA, and Louisa and Bobby Ramey, Loganville, GA; four grandchildren, Michael Thomas, David Thomas, Caroline Raspotnik, and Lucas Ramey; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Elizabeth Jaranowski, and a nephew, David Berry. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Friday, December 19, 2014 in the chapel of Columbia Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina, 700 Davega Rd., Lexington, SC 29073. Chaplain Fran Bragan officiating. A private family entombment will be held crypt side at the Aiken Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
