AIKEN, SC - John James Stetsko, age 69, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at home. John was born September 1, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Lillian (McAdams) Stetsko. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. John received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University and retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 33 years as a Revenue Officer. Prior to migrating south to Aiken, he and his wife spent 30 years in Lima, OH. A fanatical golfer, he was a member of Houndslake Country Club and was able to fulfill a lifelong dream when he attended the finals of the Masters Tournament in 2014. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maretta Stetsko; two daughters, Kate Stetsko and Peggy Stetsko, both of Chicago, IL; and a sister, Nancy Hathaway, of Dayton, OH. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Old St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
