Funeral services for Mr. Stanley Milan Brinkman will be private for the family. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Brinkman, 90, of Aiken, died Wednesday June 18, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Brant, NY, he was the son of the late Albert Lyle and Helen Chambers Brinkman. Stan spent fifty-five years as an auto dealer Brinkman Motors, Bailey Ave. Buffalo, NY and then stayed in the business as a wholesaler, once he retired to Boca Raton, FL in 1968. Stan was a member of the Congregational Church of Boca Raton and served as a deacon for five years. He and his wife also owned seven standardbred horses and were active in numerous equine activities. He was a farm boy with a great sense of humor, who was successful in business and a mentor to many. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1943 until 1945 during World War II. He moved to Aiken in 2006. Of all his accomplishments, Stan was best known for his life long love affair with his wife, Corinne. All who knew them recognized the magic they shared.
In addition to his parents, Stan was pre-deceased by two brothers; Albert Lyle Brinkman and Wilson Brinkman. He is survived by his adoring wife; Corinne Polonsky Brinkman, a loving son; Richard Milan Brinkman and his wife Jackqueline, Pooler, GA, a sister; Reva MacDowell, Brant, NY, his daughter in law; Sandra Sue Brinkman, Owensboro, KY, his mother in law; Claire Baker, Boca Raton, FL, grandchildren; Julie Brinkman, Savannah, GA and Matthew Milan Brinkman Owensboro, KY, brother in law; Edward H. Polonsky and his wife Maryann, Boca Raton, FL, a cousin; Frederick W. Brinkman and his wife Dorothy, Farnham, NY, nephews, Martin Polonsky, Delray Beach, FL, Ernie Dale Brinkman, CA, Owen Brinkman, CA and Rand Brinkman, CA, nieces; Angela Amore and her husband Michael, Long Island, NY, Karen Arcuri and her husband Jack, Delray Beach, FL, Claudia Carlin, Baltimore, MD and Arlene Miller, Brant, NY. Stan will be missed by countless friends he made around the Country and around the world.
