Funeral services for Mrs. Diane Marie Meyers will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 4:00 pm at New Covenant Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday November 18, 2008 at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Mrs. Meyers, 53, of Aiken, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her residence with family and friends beside her. Born in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Joy Purvis Heinrich. She was a life long resident of Aiken and a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. Diane worked as a Media Center Aide in the library at North Aiken Elementary and in the early years of her career as the school's nurse's aide. She served on a number of reunion committees for Aiken High School class of '73and was involved with the band booster club when her children attended Aiken High. Diane was a loving, caring, giving person. She loved her family and especially all the children of North Aiken Elementary. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Allen Heinrich. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of thirty three years, George Thomas Meyers, Jr., children, George Thomas Meyers, III, and his fiancé Adriane Poe, all of Aiken, Michael Lawrence Meyers, Charleston, sister, Patricia Ann John Montminy of Karlsfield, Germany, mother-in-law, Marian Laher, Aiken, aunt, Donna Steve Bell, of Kansas City, MO, nephews, Brendan Montminy, Ted Montminy, niece Erin Montminy, and best friend, Cindy Kelly-Kienzle.
