Jimmie was one the best managers I had the pleasure of working with over my career at Sears. Always was the first to implement new programs. He had the highest of standards. Just an overall great guy that lived life to its fullest. I will never forget his infectious laugh. Our deepest sympathy to Dottie and his entire family.

Jimmy was one of a kind as any person I've ever met, a gentleman who never had a bad bone in his body. His Love of life his family and friends was something to behold and I knew Jim for the better part of 50 years but when he met his future wife Dotty that was the happiest moment of his life he would share that with me!! Rest in peace my brother. Love you Jimmy.

Jimmie was more than a friend to the many people he touched. His devotion to Dottie , his loyalty and love for friends and family was on display everyday. It was previously said Jimmie was the life of the party, he made my life a party. Jim would start to tell a joke then start laughing before the punchline. Everyone would laugh with him and forget the joke including Jim. I raise a glass to you Jim , my dear friend, my closest friend, my forever best friend.

I met Jimmie before I met Frankie as I shared an office with him when we worked at Mays in Woodmere. I think it was 1972. It wasn’t easy getting his Girl Scout Thin Mints out of him. I snuck ‘‘em sometimes. Jimmie was always full of energy but he was way different after I left Mays and was dating Frank. We loved going to the Park Lounge with Jimmie tending bar. We had great crazy parties together always at Jimmie’s and Mrs Bowes was a great sport about the insanity. I will be forever grateful to Jimmie for the great life Jimmie showed Frank when it was just them. He adored the Bowes Family and felt like family . A fun loving , wild Irish family that prepared him for mine. We are heartbroken and so thankful for the week we had with Jimmie and his much beloved Dorothy in Hilton Head.

Pretty much stunned by this news. I found Jimmy to be someone I would seek out at neighborhood gatherings to enjoy his tremendous and genuine personality. I wish we could have spent much more time together. and I will sure miss his smile and wit. 'I would share this with him when we were together, "If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!"
Sleep in eternal peace Jimmy, you will sure be missed.

Uncle Jimmy had the best laugh. I have so many warm and happy memories of my godfather-who made me giggle so much as a small child, and gave great hugs. I feel quite sure that Uncle Jimmy knew a very different version of my Dad than I ever will hahah, but I'm grateful for the adventures that he took my father on, and I am grateful that he showed my Dad how to laugh and how to let go. As I'm writing this, trying to think of exactly what to say-I can picture him so clearly in my mind...it's an old picture. Probably an amalgamation of many memories. I'm so small. I'm running down an aisle of a store-probably the Sears in Queens-and Uncle Jimmy is in a burgundy sweater. He is smiling and laughing and larger than life-arms spread wide to catch me in a hug. That seems exactly right, and such a perfect thing to see. Sending all of my love to Aunt Dotty and his friends and family who will so deeply miss his daily presence. I am thankful for his warmth and generosity, hilarious stories, and for the the friendship and fun he brought to the life of my father.

Dearest Dotty
Our hearts are crying for your loss and for the newest angel in Heaven. As we look back on the times we all traveled together, the first memory that comes to mind is when you and I were sitting in the back seat having our own conversation as we listened to “the voice” from the front. Almost always, it was only Jim’s. It would pause for only seconds and then start right back up again…and go on for the entire duration of the trip!
All of us have lost a treasure and such a sweet, dear man.
Jim is in the arms of his Heavenly Father now, and finally whole and at peace.
God bless you sweet Jim. It was such an honor to know you and spend time with you.
With our love, Gary and Lexie
