Dear Mark’s Family;
We just want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of mourning. Mark and you became part of our family. A family that was created through baseball. We will always cherish every single moment where the children lead by Mark as the head coach learned to play the game that he loved so much. Mark was truly a gentleman. We will missed him. I will missed the occasional moments that we coincided at Publix. May the Heavenly Father Bless Mark and all of you.
Nixon, Annette, Xavier and Isabella

Mark started my career in software testing when he hired me at Dixie Narco in 1996. I would not be in this field if he hadn’t introduced me to it. I can still remember him calling me “grasshopper”. My thoughts & prayers goes out to the family. Mark will definitely be missed.

I first met Mark shortly after I joined the company in 1991 on a trip to Eastlake, OH with my then boss, Bill Wood. Ardac had just become a part of Dixie-Narco in 1990 and was already a leader in the design and production of bill validators and sophisticated electronic controls. Mark was the head of the Test Engineering group, young, smart, full of energy and commitment to his work - traits that never left him through the years. Mark was the lone engineer From Eastlake to make the move to South Carolina when the Eastlake business was sold back in part to Frank Novak, one of the business' founders. Mark's knowledge of the Eastlake products, the USA validator and the MPC controller were critical to the growth of the vending business. Mark was always, always ready to help solve a tough problem or lend a hand without being asked. Tenacity and persistence to solve problems with unique solutions set him apart from many of his peers. His contributions to the E-Model, the industry changing "bottle-drop" glassfront, the Coke Elevator GFV, The BevMAX machine and many other contributions will live on in the marketplace for many, many years to come. Every time that I use or walk by one of these machines, I will always be reminded of the tough engineering challenges that were overcome and how Mark's contributions made that possible. We have lost a very brave and resilient man given the challenges life threw his way. We have also lost a valued employee, a dedicated father and grandfather, as he spoke of his children and grandchildren with pride often at work. And, we have lost a dear friend, a rabid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. All I can leave you with my friend is: OH...

Mark was an amazing person. He was a breath of fresh air in engineering by always telling the blunt truth as it was and provided much needed laughter.

I have many fond memories working with Mark. We both moved down to Williston in the early 90’s with Dixie-Narco. Mark came from Eastlake, OH Ardac location that produced the MBA & USA Validators that went in our Stack Machines. When I was in Tech Support, we all referred to him as the “Bug Man” because whenever we had issues with our electronics not working with correctly with other OEM peripherals, he was the man to figure it out! Our department always had complete confidence in his ability to figure out the issue quickly. He was part of so many successful product launches and was key to our success. I was fortunate to work with him on many occasions. I will miss talking baseball and his beloved Cleveland Indians or giving him grief about The Ohio State Buckeyes! We have lost a great father, grandfather, and friend. God’s Speed Bud!

So sorry to hear this news.
Mark made the decision to move from Ohio to Aiken a few months after I did. He was a rock solid engineer and very talented. He was always upbeat and never discussed the challenges he had in his personal life. I ran into him frequently in Food Lion picking up a few items and he was always glad to see me and say Hello. I spent many hours with Mark in the stands at travel baseball fields and games across S.C. He never missed his son Alex’s games and was a good coach. My son Michael was his teammate and a good friend when they were young. I will truly miss running into Mark, seeing his smile, and talking about the Cleveland Browns. My wife and I will keep his family in our Prayers
