It is impossible not to smile and remember the joy Karen brought into our lives. Karen was more than just a coworker; she was my first friend at Sparq (formerly Rural Sourcing). From the day I joined the team, she welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I belonged. Karen had an incredible knack for making genuine connections with people and fostering meaningful friendships. One thing many of us will always associate with Karen is her ever-present supply of candy - chocolates, usually. It seemed like she had an endless stash, and she would generously share it with anyone who needed a sweet treat or a pick-me-up. Folks would stop by her desk throughout the day - we would come for the chocolate, stay for the conversation. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were evident in even the smallest gestures.
Karen's impact extended far beyond her love for candy and conversation. She possessed a heart filled with compassion and understanding. She was a confidant, always ready to lend a listening ear and offer wise advice when needed. Karen's ability to make everyone around her feel seen, heard, and valued was truly exceptional.
