May Doris's memory be a blessing. Her legacy will live on with the historical research that she did for the community. A strong woman of valor who lived, laughed, and loved.

Dear Sharon, Ann, and Linda,
It is with deepest sympathy that I learned of the passing of your dear mother, Doris. She was a fun and sweet lady and did a lot of wonderful stuff at Adath Yeshurun and in the surrounding Aiken community. I have fond and pleasant memories of both Doris and Pete, while attending services with you, Sharon, at the synagogue. Your mom will be greatly missed. May her neshuma always be for a blessing.
And may Hashem comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
Best regards,
David & Helaine Sawilowsky & Family

My family wants to send our condolences to Doris’ three daughters and their families. We knew Doris and Pete quite well from the time we first arrived in Aiken over 40 years ago. She was such a lovely person, and always asked after our sons when they were grown and gone. Our son David, who lives in central NY, especially wanted to be remembered to the family. There are no words to express how much Doris meant to the community, to the synagogue and to all of us.

Doris will be missed; she was like a ray of sunshine. We use to call ourselves mail box neighbors because that is where we often saw each other and talked for a bit. When Doris became ill our daughter, Wendy, would pick up her mail and visit and read to her. May her memory be a blessing.

I am so sorry for your loss! Aunt Doris was a great person. I remember her gentle touch. She was always so soft spoken and kind! I just remember her generosity and how she came from out of town to attend Dalynn’s wedding and hosted a hospitality room.

Mrs. B. was instrumental in my Jewish learning. Not only as someone who welcomed me into her home for any and every Jewish holiday but for showing me the importance of community, family, and friendship. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for the lifelong friendship I have had with her daughters who have enriched my life from a young girl in brownies to the present day. You were a light in my life. Your memory will always be a blessing to me.
