I am deeply sorry to learn of Spence’s passing. He was a wonderfully talented and very diligent co-worker at SRS in the late 80s until his retirement. Always eager to help us ‘younger set’ of employees, he was a very kind and caring family man and concerned about the well-being of all those around him. It is of no surprise to learn he continued to be very active in his community and church well after retirement. My sincere condolences to his wife Jane and extended family.

My deepest sympathy to Jane and all the family. I grew up with Spencer and Bobby in Pooler during the 40s and 50s. We lived across the road from them and the Grays lived a block away. When I came back to film a DVD for the Pooler Centennial in 2007, Spence met me and we filmed a segment on the site of their old home place, which is now a pizza restaurant. He was so kind! I vividly recall that he was the first Eagle scout in our Boy Scout Troop 26. I exchanged e-mails with him a few months ago. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. We are deeply saddened by his passing! May God richly bless Jane and all the family!
