I just learned of Dick's passing, and I am deeply saddened. "Richie", as we knew him, was in my wedding party in 1964. We were both members of St. Patrick's Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in Jersey City. Unfortunately, we lost contact with each other many years ago. He was a wonderful friend.
My condolences to the family, and may he rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear this news! Mr. Schreck was a faithful volunteer at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA with the Aiken KOC. They help to enhance the lives of our CLC patients by providing snacks, catered meals for Father's Day and Christmas and would grill hotdogs every chance they got! He brought a smile and a playful spirit wherever he went! He will be sorely missed by patients and staff alike! Sincere condolences to the family.

Mr. Schreck only touched my life briefly, but some people make more of an impact than others. Mr. Schreck was one of those. I met him as a volunteer for Toys for Tots when he dropped off the Toys for Tots box and made a couple of trips back to pick up toys. He was a sweet man and a committed volunteer. It was an honor to know him. My sincere sympathy for this great loss to your family.

I'm sorry that I never knew Mr. Schreck, but I think we could have hit it off very well. You see, I was also born in Jersey City (Margaret Hague Hospital) two years after MR. Schreck. I will also be joining him when I pass away in Calvary Cemetery, since my wife and I have plots there. I also have been a communicant at St. Mary Help of Christians Church.
May God bless Mr. Schreck's soul, and I hope to finally meet him on "the other side."

Dick was a diligent worker for Veterans and the Marine Corps league. He was a past comander of New Jersey American Legion Post 91 Wharton. He was the past Chef DeGare of the Morris County chapter of La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et & 8 Chevauk. (40&8)
Dick was a proud man and always tried to push each of us to do the right thing. Well as Dick saw it. As your friend he was there and as a mentor he would watch over the organizations he was a member of. When he thought our path was right but we went left Dick would insure we know he was right to point he quit the legion turned in his membership card and left meetings only to comeback the next week because he knew the only way to effect change and support our Veterans was from within.
I talked to Dick before Christmas and he was telling me about the Marine Corps Legs Toys for Tots drive and how he was busy working it trying to insure it was the best drive todate. Dick was not going to let C-19 keep this from being a great year for needy families. Dick was one of a kind and he will be missed but never forgotten.

Of his many accomplishments and dedication to service, Dick was also very active in the American Legion. He was a Honorary Life Member, Past Post 91 Commander, and also Past Morris County Commander. Dick continued to support his Post in Wharton, NJ even while busy in Aitken. We thank him for all he has done for his Community and fellow Veterans.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Dick. He was a gentleman that had unlimited energy. He dearly loved his family. He also gave to his country, not only during his service, but he continued with the Marine Corps League. With St Mary's you would always see Dick active within the Church and also active in the Knights of Columbus. Whenever there was a need, you could always count on Dick.
He will be greatly missed.
