AIKEN, SC - Aubrey James Kline Jr., 86 beloved husband of Mary Hydrick Kline, left this world on December 26, 2020.
Jim Kline grew up in Augusta, Georgia. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary and Boys Catholic High School. He served in the Marine Corps and returned to College after his tour of Duty. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s Degree. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia and his PHD from University of Nevada Reno.
Jim had a long distinguished career as a college professor. He retired from the University System of Georgia, Professor Emeritus and from University of Texas, El Paso. Gainesville, Georgia and Las Cruces NM were two of his favorite places to live and to teach. He leaves behind many dear friends and students from his long teaching career. Jim also loved playing golf with a special group of friends in Las Cruces NM.
Jim was a life member of the Marine Corps League Detatchmentst #939, James L Hammons Detachment and he enjoyed being a part of the Toys for Tots Campaign.
His beloved wife, Mary; his son, Michael (Brenda) of Weaverville, North Carolina; daughter, Renee (Michael) of Cartersville, GA; son, John (Valerie) of Braselton, Georgia; and daughter, Alecia (Bryan) of Buford Georgia, survive Jim. His nine granddaughters and one grandson and 18 great grandchildren also survive him. His parents, Aubrey and Ethel Kline, his grandparents and his beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Kline, precede him in death.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fairfield St, with Father Fransico Onate-Vargas as celebrant. Final Prayers and Commendation will follow in the church columbarium with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to St. Jude Hospital, Shriners Hospital or to Wounded Warrior.
