Obituary of Marilou Meditz Walsh

AIKEN, SC – Marilou Meditz Walsh, age 68, passed away August 29, 2020.

Marilou was born March 25, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ralph Michael Branovic and the late Margaret Rickard Branovic. She received her bachelor’s degree from The University of South Carolina Aiken. She spent her career as a business owner and operator and then later as a nurse. She had been a resident of Aiken, SC for the past thirty-two years. Marilou enjoyed flowers and plants. She was an active communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. She worshiped her grandchildren and they knew her as “NoNo” and “Nonnie.” She liked to cruise and travel. Marilou loved her nickname “Stella.” She was always a giving person with a can-do attitude.

In addition to her parents, Marilou was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Frank Meditz.

Survivors include her husband, John “Jack” Walsh; two daughters, Robyn Meditz Webb and Maggie Catoe (Col. John Catoe, US Air Force); and a son, Michael Meditz (Laura); a sister, Jeannie Tartaglione (Bruce); and a brother, Martin Branovic (Cindy); and eleven grandchildren.

Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at George Funeral Home. A prayer service will be said at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fairfield St., with The Very Rev. Gregory Wilson as celebrant.
