Obituary of Faye Alexander Drawdy

AIKEN – Mrs. Charlotte Faye Drawdy, 67, wife of Mr. Henry E. “Hank” Drawdy, entered gently into rest Thursday, June 11, 2020.

 

Born January 29, 1953 in Aiken, SC, she was the daughter of Pauline Alexander and the late Grover “Mac” Alexander.

 

Faye, a lifelong resident of Aiken, was a beloved member of Pineview Baptist Church in New Ellenton, SC. With her bright smile and bubbling personality Faye never met a stranger. While she enjoyed a career as hairdresser and owner of her own salon, her passions were her faith, her family, and helping her community. She founded and operated “Santa Fayes” a charitable business that helped the children of her church. To many she was affectionately known as “Santa Faye”. After battling cancer for three and a half years she is finally cured and resting peacefully with her Lord.

 

Faye was preceded in death by her father, her nephew, Timothy Toole, and her sister-in-law, Tina Alexander.

 

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 wonderful years, Henry E. “Hank” Drawdy; her mother Pauline Alexander; her siblings Bill Alexander of Beech Island, Lynn Alexander of New Ellenton; her nieces Erica Ramsey (Phillip) of Aiken, Lea DiFranco of Beech Island; her sisters-in-law Sylvia Williamson (Larry) of Conyers GA, Marilyn Peals of Aiken; 2 great nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

The family will receive friends Friday, June 19, 2020 from 6-8PM, at The Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken, SC 29801.

 

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Pineview Baptist Church, 2424 Williston Rd. New Ellenton, SC 29809.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to thelydiaproject.org or your preferred charity in Faye’s memory.
