My deepest condolences to Sandra's family and loved ones. Sandra is the very best of the bests who worked with me at the Brain and Behavior Discovery Institute as the administrative assistant. Her smiles and warm-hearted manner brought sunshine to the institute. She will also be remembered by her highest integrity, great sense of responsibility, wonderful talents and southern-kindness in helping many students and postdoctoral fellows editing our manuscripts and articles. These publications will be forever associated with Sandra!
Sandra, you have a special place in our hearts, and you will stay with us in our memories as long we live...

I have such fond memories of Sandra. So beautiful, sweet and kind! We’d been friends since childhood. I remember her always smiling and happy. Her sister Bev has been and is my BFFF (best female friend forever). Jon was just a toddler when I started hanging out at their house. Seems like not that long ago but, than more than 45 years have past. After leaving Aiken, I lost touch with Sandra until a few years ago when we reconnected through FaceBook. Had the pleasure to visit with her a few times and catch up with each other. I’m so glad we did! There are so many people that become a part of your life and Sandra was one of them. I will dearly miss her. Gone too soon! RIP Sandra.

I attended Aiken High School with Sandra and reconnected with her about 4 years ago. She introduced me to Augustino’s Italian restaurant and treated me to lunch for my birthday. A few months later in July of that year, it was her birthday so we went back to Augustino’s. I wanted to buy her a birthday lunch as she had done for me, but she didn’t want to allow it saying I didn’t have to do that. I finally talked her into it and was happy she allowed me to return her kind gesture. Sandra and I also met for a walk at Odell Weeks in Aiken a few years ago and her kind nature once again shone through.
My mother met Sandra in the eighties when she worked at Women’s World health spa. She liked her right away and said, “do you know Sandra Jackson from school? You should be friends with her, she’s a sweet girl!” I am glad I was able to tell this story to Sandra several years ago. I will greatly miss her and wish we had the opportunity to visit as we had planned last week. I wish her family peace and comfort at this time. My sincere condolences are with you all.

I remember Sandra from the time she played basketball for St. Thaddeus and me at age 9. She always has had a special place in my heart. She always will. She has fought so many demons in her life and put up a valiant struggle. I pray God will take His child home and bestow upon her grace, mercy and His heavenly peace. Sandra, we love you. Sandra and I graduated from high school the same year. I always remember her as the sweet girl with a smile on her face.
I was fortunate to reconnect with Sandra a couple of years ago. In a very short period of time, she became family to me, and spent time, not only at my home, but holidays with my extended family as well. She did love animals so much and my animals took to her immediately as if they could sense her sweet caring spirit.
