My dear Albrecht family,
George and I wish to send to you our most sincere
sorrow for you loss. What a legacy you have come from. You are each and everyone of you blessed to know that you have come from a very special gene pool.
Although we lived just 4 houses from the newly built Albrecht home in Florida, we knew from the beginning that our neighbors were going to be special, if their name was Albrecht. You see we first knew Karl Albrecht from Faith Lutheran Church who came by every day to make sure that construction was on schedule and done "right".
Such good times and crazy parties were no surprise. We were happy to be chosen to appear in Keystone Cop costumes raiding the party that was held over a 2 day period. Too many friends to leave anyone out of the invitation.
Once after dinner at our house, Ginny returned from the lady's room, grabbed my hand and led me back to talk about a painting we had of our youngest children at the end of the dock after a day of fishing. Ginny was breathless when she
said, "That is the view we see from our island". You would have to know the Okeechobee Lodge in Georgian Bay very well to recognize it from the trees across the lake. At this point we were a shoe-in for an invitation to the Albrecht Island.
Soon later we discovered that Ginny's first job was in Grosse Pointe at the Moran Pharmacy where I grew up.
There was never a week went by without a phone call to or from Aiken. Our cherished new painting by Carol Sue Roberts, of a home on Richmond Avenue W in Aiken has a special place in our Livingroom. Gary loved her work and knew
we would too.
We feel that we know Dawn, Joy and Karl because we've heard so much about them over the years. You are all
heroes in your everyday dedication to carry on the legend with the gifts you have been given, a greater love for mankind
and knowledge that you can make a difference.
Your parents taught it wherever they went,
Love,
Dee

The family spent a lot of time at this special place they found in Canada. A lot of time was spent thinking about and then raising or lowering the Canadian and American flag each day.
