I met John as a fellow member of Torch Club of Augusta. What a wonderful person and gentleman. I cherish the conversations I had with him at our meetings. I have just heard of his passing. My condolences go out to his family.

So very sorry to hear of John’s passing. I didn’t know him as a close friend but, we did travel overseas together as part of a larger group. He was an impressive individual. To his family..... please accept my sincere sympathy.

It was my privilege to work with John as part of the SRS Retiree Association. He did a marvelous job as our webmaster. Most importantly, though, were his sharing of his wisdom and experience as we navigated the murky waters of changing medical benefits. He was always a gentleman and a voice of reason in even trying times. His wise counsels will be missed.

John was a member of the SRS Retiree Association Board of the Directors for many years. He was our Webmaster and was passionate about providing helpful information to all SRS retirees. He also left a legacy at work at the SRS.
When his eyesight declined, I drove him to several of our meetings and we talked personally. He missed Nancy so and was devoted to his family. He will be missed.

Extending my sympathies to YJohn's family. We were classmates and lived in the same neighborhood. I also knew his mother, Edith. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Carol & Jack
I have very fond memories of your dad (and your mom). I can hear your dad chuckling and see him smiling when I think back to all of those years of our parents being such good friends. How lucky they all were to have had such long lasting friendships that spanned raising children, outdoor activities (the backpacking!), SRP and years and years of riding horses and sharing meals. Your dad left a legacy by showing us how to care for others and being devoted to friends and family. My prayers are with you, Jill Crawford Ross

Carol and Jack....
I don’t believe we have ever met, but I knew your mother Nancy as we played tennis together for many years. We later got to know your Dad better at St. John’s United Methodist Church. They were both fine people and very talented. Unfortunately we will be out of town next weekend and unable to attend John’s service. Please know that you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
