Obituary of Martha Gayle DeMore

AIKEN, SC—Martha Gayle DeMore, age 78, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA.

Mrs. DeMore was born May 28, 1940 in DuBois, PA to the late Mr. & Mrs. Daniel and Cornelia Morey. As a life long learner, she received her master’s degree and spent her career in both education and as State Farm Insurance Agent. Mrs. DeMore had made Aiken, SC her home for the past twelve years, having lived previously in DuBois, PA. She enjoyed the southern sunshine and warm weather and was an active member of the Cedar Creek Community. She was an avid painter and enjoyed classes at USCA and was a member of the Aiken Center for the Arts. She loved to travel the world and also enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Her Grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mrs. DeMore was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert J. DeMore; two daughters, Gayle Kamienik (William), Pittsburgh, PA and Leigh Leftwich (Allen), Bloomington, IL; a son, Robert D. DeMore (Stacy), Pittsburgh, PA; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Rece, Lindsey, and Delaney.

Services will be held privately.
