AIKEN, SC—George H. Piper, age 95, entered into rest Monday, October 8, 2018.

Mr. Piper was born April 3, 1923 in Aiken, SC to the late Llewellyn and Lucille Piper. He was a life-long area resident and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He saw action in the Battle of the Bulge. He spent his career at DuPont and enjoyed farming, taking care of his land, and fishing.  He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Piper Jr.; and a brother, Harold Piper.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Erline Scott Piper; a daughter, Priscilla Lamb, Clarksville, GA; a son, Llewellyn Edward Piper (Cindy), Palm Coast, FL; four grandchildren, Ashley Lamb, Nicolas Lamb, Dr. Megan Gray (Chip), and Sean Piper (Cara); and three great-grandchildren, Stella Piper, Brodie Gray, and Ian Piper.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Chris Masters officiating.

The Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234), has charge of arrangements.
