My grandmother was an extraordinary women, who I hope will be remembered for who she was; strong, independent and wise. I am confident she is in a place surrounded by her beloved dogs, waiting to play a round of golf or bridge. I know the golf course is where I will continue to seek her advice and guidance. I will think of her often.

I arrived in the UW-Whitewater athletic department in 1976, and it was the legacy of Ms. Greene among others that pioneered the way for women to participate in athletics. It has been wonderful for me professionally, and as the father of four girls, personally enriching as well. Just wanted her friends and family to know that she has a special place in UW-Whitewater sports.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Alyce was my mentor at UW-Whitewater when I was her student and later her colleague. She was an inspiration to me as I embarked upon my career in physical education. She will always hold a special place in my heart! She touched the lives of many and for that we all are grateful.

I\'m glad for you all, Jim, that your mom\'s languishing is over. Thank you so much for sharing the obit with us; Pat will read it when she comes upstairs. What a dynamic lady Alyce obviously was! I wish you many happy memories of her, and peace -- you did what you could in the last months to make the best of a rough situation, and should have no regrets. Love ya, Beth.
