Obituary of Marguerite Patricia Plaunt
Please share a memory of Marguerite to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marguerite was a woman who knew that life was a celebration, something to be treasured just as she is by all of her loving network of family and friends she leaves behind. She handled her almost year-long battle with pancreatic cancer the same way she lived her life----with grace, optimism and sense of humor.
Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, she raised her family in West Bloomfield, Michigan and after 25 years, then moved to her dream home in Aiken, South Carolina where she quickly made friends with a group of women affectionately known as the ?Ya Ya?s.?
Known for her beaming smile, genuine warmth, boundless energy and natural entertaining ability that would put Martha Stewart to shame, Marguerite was the one everyone wanted to be around because she was so much fun. No matter what role she took on --- loving wife of 46 years, adoring grandmother to her seven grandchildren, inspirational mother to her four children, devoted sister and generous friend, Marguerite did it all with love and panache.
Marguerite is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Robert Bob; her son Greg Margo of Seattle, Wa; son Todd Kandy of Holland, Oh and their two children Kayla and Kane; her son Gary Debbie of Mukleteo Wa and their two daughters Samantha and Britney; and her daughter Paraise Wood Gerry of Waterford, Mi and their three sons: Robert, Matthew and MacNeill; and her sister Helen Brown Don of Bailey?s Brook, Nova Scotia, Canada.
She leaves all who knew her with a lesson she taught us --- live the life you love to its fullest and love the life you live. What an incredible teacher.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marguerite on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, West Bloomfield, MI. Interment will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn, MI.
The family has requested that memorials be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 681 Silver Bluff Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 or St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 438, Aiken, SC 29802
