To Nell's family: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. When I moved back to Aiken several years ago, I played golf with Nell at Palmetto. She would get up to that tee and hit the ball straight down the fairway. I am a novice golfer and she was so patient with me. She could outscore most of the ladies with her straight ball and good putting. She was very special and will be missed.

Joe, Ann and McKane family: On behalf of my mother, Ruth, and my 6 brothers and sisters, we share your loss. Your mother brought our youngest brother home from the hospital, when our mother and father could not. Nell was a neighbor who treated me like part of your family. Nell and your dad were a very positive influence in the formation of my young life.

Dear McKanes,
I didn't know Nell, but she must have had a great sense of humor, if her daughter, Ann, if any indication. Enjoy all the dear, sweet, funny old memories as they can stay with you, even though she is gone. I offer my sincerest condolences.

Memories of this wonderful woman flashed across my mind when I read of her passing. I have such fond memories while I was working for the Red Cross in the 1980's with her. Sincere sympathy to her family and prayers and hopes that your memories of more joyous times together will be greater than your grief. God Bless you all.
