Graveside services for Mrs. Carole F. Pechersky will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10am at Sons of Israel Cemetery, Aiken, SC, with Rabbi Robert Klensin officiating. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society, 115 Greenville S, NW, Aiken, SC 29801-3810; Breast Cancer Research Fund, 60 East 56th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY, 10022; and Adath Yeshurun Synagogue, 154 Greenville Street, Aiken, SC, 29801.
Mrs. Pechersky, 65, of Aiken, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter Evelyn Kaufman Frank and the late Manuel J. Frank. Before moving to Aiken in 1990, she lived in Pittsburgh and State College, PA. Carole loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved going to the beach, fashion, and reading, and she was an excellent cook. Carole was a member of the Sisterhood of Adath Yeshurum Synagogue and Hadassah. She worked as an administrator at Security Federal Bank for twenty years.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased her brother, Robert K. Frank. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Martin J. Pechersky; daughters, Julie Alon Plitt, Briarcliff Manor, NY; Kara Richard Deaner, Augusta, GA; Dana Geoffrey Lumetta, Astoria, NY; brother, James Frank, Prospect, PA; sister-in-law, Karyn Frank, Pittsburgh, PA; and grandchildren, Samuel J. Plitt, Sasha M. Plitt, Mia S. Plitt, Isabella G. Deaner, and Adam D. Deaner.
