I was very sorry to read of the passing of Red. He was sure a wonderful friend to me as a young man.He really had to work overtime trying to keep Dickie and myself straight.
He was as sincere as one could be with his dedication to the youth of our time.

Dickie, it was with sadness that I learned of your father's death. I had met him only once. He approached me in the grocery store 15-20 years ago and asked if I was Carl Johnson's daughter. When I replied that I was, he told me how much he thought of my dad and how many years they had known each other. My dad had passed away in 1978. It meant a lot to me to know that he was remembered so kindly. I can't remember how they knew each other. Dad owned Johnson's Gulf Station and that may have been the connection. I am so sorry for your loss. Please convey my condolences to your mother and family.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of a dear friend. Red was a friend and a very special person to our family. He will be missed and always thought of with a smile. To Margie and the children our prayers go with you all.
