My deepest sympathies to the family of my dear and long time friend, Russell, whom I've known and loved since we met in Washington, D.C. in the early 60's. Russell was one of my favorite people in the world, and I always cherished his annual visits to me either in Boston, Ma. or Palm Beach, Florida. I shall miss him terribly for his wit, charm and worldly knowledge. I am heartily sorry that I cannot attend his funeral services due to health issues.
Russ sat next to me in the Master Gardening class this fall. I know he was enjoying learning more about gardening, and he and I shared some jokes in class. I know he was ill and missed the last couple of classes. I am sorry to know that I won't be able to get to know him better. I know that he will be missed.
