Mrs. Oleen Redd Witter 72, fondly called Momma of Aiken entered into rest Friday, September 19, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Olin C. Redd and Lucille McClain Redd and her special friend/former husband, Herbert P. Witter. The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Cedar Creek Church with Pastor Phillip Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Chris Godson, Nick Witter, Kayla Godson, Walter Ray, Jonathon Ray and Greg Gordon. Mrs. Witter was a native resident of Aiken County. She was a charter member of Cedar Creek Church in Aiken and a member of the Barbara Bentley's Ladies Day Group. She retired in 2002 from Savannah River Site. She is lovingly survived by her son, Herb Witter, four daughters, Milisa Godson, Cindy Randy Ray, Renee Mike Fowler, all of Aiken; Aimee Kevin Bennett of Rochester, NY; six grandchildren Chris Rayette Godson, Nick Erica Owens Witter, Kayla Godson, Walter Ray, Jonathon Ray, and Regan Bennett.; two great-grandchildren, Matt Godson and Caleb Godson; two sisters, Rebecca Peter Knoller of Johnsonville, SC and Irma Edward Hoffman of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Lynne Hicks, Shana Strafaci, nephews, Bill Heath, and Greg Gordon. The family will receive friends at the home of her son and on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken.
