Dear Herb, Milisa, Cindy, Renee and Aimee,
I am so sad to hear of your mother's illness and death... sad for me, of course, and for you in your loss. I so enjoyed running into her here and there over the past several years. These times always brought to me a wonderful taste of fond memories seasoned so powerfully with her witness of personal strength and faith and love. She has been such vital part of the testimony of love that your family has made to so very many people around Aiken, a testimony that will continue. We know that that love does not die. I will still hear your Momma's unique voice and her frequent little laugh, often tossing her head back a bit as if to say "whatever", and I will see her warm and encouraging smile, which will continue to remind me of the hope we all share in God. I rejoice with your Momma now as she hears the "well done..." reserved especially for her, and my heart goes out to you all and your family as you grieve her loss.

Oleen is gone from this place, but not from the hearts of those who love her. She's here right on -- in our wonderful memories. I miss her deeply, but I am forever grateful for knowing her, loving her, being loved by her, for all I learned from her,especially her undying love for Jesus & her not being afraid to tell it. I hope one of my favorite readings brings you comfort at this time in your lives. I was saddened to read of Oleen's passing when I opened the newspaper. I had lost touch with her. I worked with Oleen at SRS and saw her occasionaly at church. She was a joy to be around. May her heavenly resting place bring you comfort and may God above bring you peace.

Aimee, Milisa and family-
I was so sorry to hear that Ms. Oleen past away this week. I still remember walking over to her house after school for youth group to a very loving and encouraging atmosphere. Your mom- and your whole family- made me feel so welcome as a newcomer to Aiken in high school. She was a special lady, and I'm sure she is just now finding out the many ways that her small actions influenced so many lives. I'll be praying for you all as you face such a deep loss.

Oleen was like another grandmother to me growing up and when she took care of my children, she told them to call her MiMi like Reagan.
