A Funeral Mass for Norman Harry "Mac" McIntyre, Jr. will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Mr. McIntyre, 50, of Aiken, died suddenly Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in Orange County, CA, while on a business trip.
Born in Burlington, VT, he was the son of Norman Harry McIntyre, Sr and the late Colleen Bargfrede McIntyre. He lived in South Royalton, VT and graduated from South Royalton High School in 1975. Mac then attended University of Vermont, graduating in 1980 and then earned his Masters Degree in Nursing at Louisiana State University in 1986. He received his Post Certification in Clinical Transformation at Duke University in 1999. Mac had lived in New Orleans, LA, Morgantown, WV and Williamsburg, VA before moving to Aiken in 1990 when he took a position as nurse manager on the third floor of Aiken Regional Medical Center. In 1997, he became a hospital consultant and most recently worked for PerotSystems, based in Plano, TX. Mac was an accomplished pianist and had been the musical director of the LifeTeen, Age2Age band at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Mac will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife of almost twenty-three years, Lizette Munoz McIntyre, Aiken, a daughter; Elizabeth McIntyre, Aiken, his father and step-mother; Norman H. McIntyre, Sr. and Shirley McIntyre, White River Junction, VT a sister; Goldina Y. McIntyre, Lebannon, NH
