I am deeply sorry for your loss. It is our loss too. I stay at the same hotel as "Mac" and would see him around all the time. It is not the same here without him. He was a nice man, I know he loved you both and be assured the world is a better place for him having been here. I can not imagine the hole that he has left in your lives, as he has in all of those that he touched.

Dear Lizette and Elizabeth,
It was great to see you both at the visitation. The video, arrangement of flowers and the keyboard with the 1 single rose was very moving. I felt Macs presence and knew he would be pleased. Reading the many postings from people across the US is just so heartwarmng. You are so blessed to have had a spouse, friend and dad that was so loved and respected both personally and professionally. He never met a stranger. I am still very sad and will miss our frequent visits at Publix. I looked forward to seeing him and hearing about the family and travels. My prayers are with you both. It has brought back many memories for me and my mom loosing my dad at 16.I know this is hard. Take care and know that a ton of people care and love you and Mac.

Dear Lizette and Elizabeth,
I want to share a few distinct memories of Mac. The first is him sharing the history of the king cake outside on the sidewalk of St. John's preschool. Somehow Elizabeth would always get the slice with baby Jesus. The second is Lizette and Mac "cheek to cheek" on the playground at St. Mary's Oktoberfest. Fast forward to 5th grade, Mac upstairs on our computer "helping" our kids with a "group" Indian project. The kids were working hard socializing - Mac was showing his great computer/writing skills. Of course the "kids" received an "A". Lastly, Mac on the keyboard saying "Good Evening St. Mary's!".
Mac embraced new challenges. He had a way of putting things in perspective. Most importantly, and evident to all, was Mac's love of his family. He loved being a Dad!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
We love you,
Pat, Dave and Wes

Lizette and Elizabeth,
Our prayers are with you at this very sad time. Remember we are a phone call away.
Mac had a generous heart and was willing to help anyone in need. I will always remember his contagious laugh and smart wit. He helped me to get A's on my term papers and cooked great meals at the same time! I enjoyed every minute I spent learning how to cook his spagetti sauce. He knew I wasn't concentrating on my term paper and would patientiently end up writing it for me. How we laughed. Those days will always be vivid in my memory.
We feel so sad for his passing.
We will miss him. I regret we missed the opportunity to visit each other.
Please, do come visit us. The Ocean can very healing.

Mac gave us some great recipes that we still use. Shepherds Pie is Melanie's favorite. You all were so gracious to us the week we stayed with you in Virginia. Even after all this time, Mac and Joe still resemble each other, beard and all. Dear Lizette and Elizabeth,
My heart is broken over your great loss. Many, many tears were shed among the adults and teens at the news of Mac's passing, so great was his influence on all he met at St. Mary's. And yet when I see how much good Mac has done, and with the great love and sacrifice he loved both of you as well as many at St. Mary's, there is much reason to hope that Mac has received a faithful servant's reward, and that he is now watching over and protecting you more than ever before.
I am saddened that I will be out of town for Mac's funeral and memorial service. Please know that you are in my prayers regularly and that I will offer up my mass on Sunday and my Office on Monday for yours and Mac's intention.
Also, I ask that you please reserve for me one of the memorial prayer cards so that I may regularly keep Mac in my prayers for years to come.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
