Dear Lynnda,
It was with sadness but also with many fond memories that I read of your mother\'s passing. You and she were a big part of my childhood and youth, and she was my favorite of all my friends\' parents. I always felt that she enjoyed young people and knew how to treat them as valuable individuals. She and my mother were both so involved with getting Shandon Methodist Kindergarten off the ground, with you and I as charter members! She was an intelligent, committed lady of great wisdom and integrity, and my life is the better for having known her and you.
Fondly,
Margaret MacFarlane Jackson

We are receipients of Josephines commitment and work in 1965-66 through the Children\'s Bureau when she was our case worker during our adoption process. She transported a 5 week old infant from Savannah, Ga. through a forest fire that burned alongside the interstate highway and at one point
crossed the highway with this baby in her car. She was caring, kind, focused yet discerning in the affairs of adoption. I\'m sure we express the hearts of many parents that she dealt with during her career. She did her job well and a good role model for such types of professionals.

Jo Cannon was the one who "invited" me to become a Social Worker and thus had a lasting influence on my life. She was a model for many in the profession over her years of practice and beyond. I am in the process of getting her identified as a "Pioneer" by the National Association of Social Workers in DC. I am sorry that i was not more timely in this. My deep sympathies. Ernestine Player

To Lynda and the family:
I had the privlidge of living right next door to
Mrs Cannon for at least 5 years. She was a wonderful
neighbor and friend. She let
me use her mountain house in
Pumpkintown several times.
She did many special things for me at Christmas and Easter. What a wonderful lady, who took loving care every day and night of her husband, Glenn until he died.
I shall always remember her and her happy outlook on life. She will be missed by so many of us.
Mason Gibbes
