Obituary of Dorothy Virginia Templeton

AIKEN, SC - Dorothy Morton Templeton, 96, died after a brief illness on Monday, July 4, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Croft House, Inc., 356 York St., NE, Aiken.
Dorothy was born in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. "Bud" Templeton; daughter, Katherine Rae Templeton; parents, George Morton and Hattie Ramsey Morton; and a brother, Howard Morton. Mrs. Templeton was a 1938 graduate of Knoxville Illinois High School and a member of the KHS Half-A-Hundred Club. She was a 50 year member of the General Grand Chapter No. 880 OES. She retired from the Outboard Marine Corporation in 1982. In her long life, she enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, playing bingo with her friends at the Croft House and taking care of animals. She was truly an animal whisperer.
Survivors include her adopted family, John Noland and Lois Hardeman, Joel and Traci Shaffer, Michael, Jan, Anna, Elena, Olivia Bozzone, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Morton Shaw, and her many friends at the Croft House. She left our family blessed with so many memories that will be cherished for our lifetimes. We were blessed beyond measure with her addition to our family.
