My husband and I had so much fun with Jack at Management Club functions. We always tried to sit together because we could laugh and have a good time. We all particulary enjoyed the wine tasting event. I thought about Jack a lot through all this and said many prayers for him and his family. He will be in our hearts and continued prayers always. We have and will really missed him.

Jack was a friend as well as a co-worker who will truly be missed not only by me but all of us who knew him here at Fort Gordon. I always enjoyed him coming by my office; he was the type of person who could help me see the positive in so many ways when things weren't going right. Over the past two years I have missed those daily office chats. Please accept my deepest Condolences. Charlie Moore

Please accept our sincere condolences from the Oliver family. Jack will be missed by all at IAP. Each and everyday that I came in contact with Jack, he was always a very polite gentleman. There is no doubt in my mind where Jack's final resting place will be and he'll be looking down on us with the words that I heard him say many times; "We need to do whatever it takes to take care of the soldiers."

An elderly lady we once knew who lived across the street, was near death. She loved the Lord and longed to be with Him since all of her close friends had already taken that ship to the other side. The nurse told her family that she would probably hold on until she could see her daughter, who was on her way to say goodbye. The nurse said, "It's as if Barbara has one foot here and the other foot in heaven. She wants to take that last step soon."
Henry van Dyke wrote the following words about death. "I am standing at the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her great white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the beautiful blue ocean. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of a white cloud, just where the sea and the sky come to mingle with each other........And just at the moment when someone at my side says: 'There, she is gone!' there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: 'Here she comes!' And that is the same with dying."
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.----2 Corinthians 5v8.
If we think about where Jack has gone we will realize that God needed a specialist to install the wiring in His new homes He is establishing in Heaven and no one could handle this job but the very best, so our dear friend was called to fullfill this position. He will be waiting at the dock when our ship enters the port there in Heaven.
