Aiken, SC - On May 30, 2009, Walter Clarence Price, Jr. took his next step in his journey at age 69 after a short illness. "W.C.", as he was called by family and friends, was known for his generosity, compassion and acceptance for those less fortunate. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter C. Price, Sr. and Garnet Price of Charleston, West Virginia. He was an avid fisherman, cyclist, and gardener and made South Carolina his home for more than 25 years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William Price. He is survived by his two adult children, Greg Price of Stamford, CT, Susan Price of Barrington, NH, their partners, Wayne Osborne and Betsy Staber, a step-daughter, Vicki Billings, sister, Marsha Barton, brother, Robert Price, his companion, Sasha Thurmond, and many friends who will greatly miss his wisdom and courage. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 1pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11am until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Ave, NW, Aiken, SC, 29801.
