Sam was one of the most refreshing souls I have ever known. He was a truly good friend and a good man. For years he worked at Lot's Ministry in downtown Augusta to help feed the homeless and poor. For years he helped maintain an outreach pantry at Christ's Way Christian Church as a satellite of Golden Harvest Food Bank. Sam was a true and sincere Christian but he was never pious. He was someone who made people feel comfortable while being true to himself and his convictions. I appreciated his candor but also his sensitivity. He cared about people! He will be sorely missed! May God continue to bless Sara and the family in the days to come as they remember the gift of God we called Sam.
