I have been working out of town for close to 2yrs in Newberry, S.C.. A letter was returned to me that I had sent A.J. I went to his house today and learned that he was no longer with us and his house had been sold. It saddens me deeply. A.J and I met at Waffle House on Richland Av. We use to talk often. I don't have the words to describe just how I feel at this moment because I am still in shock. I use to go see A.J. and bring him sugar free deserts and cakes. He was a very wonderful person that always found the good in everyone no matter what other people thought. I know he's in a better place now. I was blessed to know A.J. and I am thankful for the friendship we shared. He will always be my uncle A.J. My thoughts and prayers are with his family who he loved so much and talked about everytime we saw each other. He was so proud of his children. And to his son whom I met in Waffle House: I always referred to you as A.J.J. I am truly so sorry about the loss of your father.
I just heard this morning of Mr. Gormans passing! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Him, as well as his wife were frequent patrons of Stoplight Deli for many years and were much loved, especially by me! He will be greatly missed!
I will always miss my dad. I am thankful for all the wonderful years he was with us and for his patience, love and wisdom which he always showed us. My dad was the kindest person I have ever known. We kids were very lucky, blessed, to have a dad like our dad.
Dot and I will miss AJ's warm smile and pleasant manner. He was always the same, and comfortable in his own skin. A genuine person. Our heartfelt condolences to the family.
