Richard Herman Futch, 80, of Aiken, SC, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Born in Cross City, Florida on August 24, 1936, he was a son of R.H. (Ed) Futch and Lydia Q. Peterson. He graduated from Dixie High School Cross City, Florida and went on to become an Electrical Engineer and worked with numerous industrial contractors in the power plant industry. Since retirement, he enjoyed computer maintenance & repair; Triumph motorcycles, golf, fishing, and hunting. Mr. Futch attended Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville, SC where he appreciated being challenged to grow in his knowledge of God through Christ Jesus. Richard was blessed to have two families, each of whom he expected the highest standards of truth and self-respect; his memory will be treasured by his beloved wife of 37 years, Debby Williams Futch. Five children: Debbie Futch Fortner(Phillip), Joey Futch, Donny Futch (Donna), Leigh Futch Winkler (Andy) and Randall Petty, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Walter Craig and Carol Craig Gibson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Craig Futch, sisters; Dora Futch Petty, Edna Futch Zachary and Willene Futch, brothers; Joseph and J.D. Futch. Services will be held at Christian Heritage Church on Sunday, August 13 with visitation at 2:30 PM and a funeral service at 3:30 PM with Rev. Steven Phillips officiating. The family respectfully asks that memorials be sent to Christian Heritage Church, 285 Ascauga Lake Rd, Graniteville, SC 29829.
