Aiken, SC-A memorial service for Mrs. Barbara J. Commons will be private. Mrs. Commons, 73, of Aiken, SC, and a former thirty year resident of Crystal River, FL, wife of Mr. Robert ?Bob? Commons, died Sunday, afternoon, May 5, 2002 University Hospital, Augusta, GA Born in Chicago, IL, she was the only child of the late Tom and Marion Montgomery. A resident of Aiken, SC, since July of 2001, she had been a resident of Crystal River, FL, for thirty years, where she was a retired Elementary School Teacher, having taught K-6. She received her Masters from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest, IL, where she met her husband, Bob. In addition to her husband of fifty-three years, Robert ?Bob? Commons, sons, R. David Commons, Evans, GA, T. Mark Commons, Mammoth Lakes, CA, and R. Blair Commons, Japan; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, survive Mrs. Commons.
