Funeral Services, military honors for Mr. Peter William Beller will take place on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11am at Christian Heritage Church, 285 Ascuaga Lake Rd., Graniteville, SC. Visitation will be on Thursday morning, 9am -10am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to United Hospice, 211 York St. NE, Aiken, SC 29801.
Mr. Beller, 62, of Trenton, SC, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at his residence.
A son of the late William Peter Beller and Edna Farrell Beller, he was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in St. James City, FL before moving to Trenton in 2002.
Peter served his Country in the US Army and then became a police officer for the New York City Police Dept. He attained the rank of detective and developed an expertise as a polygraph lie detector operator. He retired in 1974 and became a polygraph operator for the Miami, FL Police Dept and also operated his own company. He was involved in several high profile cases and was regarded as a national expert. He retired to Trenton after thirty-eight years in law enforcement. Not being able to stay away, he joined the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Team until his illness permanately sidelined him.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Molino Beller, Trenton; a daughter, Sharon Edna Beller, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and two brothers, William Beller, Sunrise, FL and Lou Beller, Albany, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
