Lionel LJ and I were friends since the day IBM Manassas opened its doors. He was truly a a delight to be around. Always had a nice joke to tell to liven things up.
We did not see each other much during the past years, but always had time to call and provide a good joke and talk about Alabama football.
Sure will miss those call and jokes.
My wife and I express our sympathy to Kay and family

I am truly blessed to have lived knowing Uncle Lionel. I will miss the excitement, joy, and warmth he brought when he came to visit. I never knew anything other than kindness from Uncle Lionel. Aunt Kay, Jud, Chris, and Becky are all in my prayers.

Lionel will truly be missed by many people whose lives he touched. Lionel was one of my first managers in IBM security who mentored me at work and became a good friend while playing IBM softball. My heart goes out to his family during this sorrowful time. God bless you all.

Lionel was always positive, upbeat and had the right spirit and a pleasure to work with over the years. Whenever you needed support he was the first to give it; he was as they say "someone you could count on". He never said to anyone it’s not my job; he took ownership and made sure the right people were involved to resolve. No one ever heard him say anything negative about anyone, he always had a positive word to say about everyone, and I mean everyone! Lionel made coming to work enjoyable and most importantly he treated everyone with the utmost respect. When anyone had a concern they didn’t hesitate to get Lionel involved, and on those occasions, he always had the answer on how to resolve. No matter how busy he was himself, he would always give his support and encouragement. Enjoy those many “hole in ones” in heaven for you richly deserve our respect for always being a classic gentleman.

No higher compliment can be paid of man than for it to be said he was my friend. Lionel was our friend in every sense of the word. Debbie and I are so happy that we had the opportunity to reconnect with Lionel and Kaye before his passing.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to Kaye and his family.
Rest in peace friend.
