To the family of Tab Barrett:
I was very sorry to hear the news of Tab's passing. I had lost touch with him after graduation, but thought of him over the years. He was always one the quiet, nice guys in school and I can't remember him ever saying anything bad about any one. I can't imagine how hard this will be for you and your sons, but try to stay strong and keep your eyes on the Lord, he will bring you through.

Karen,
I am absolutely speechless, which is hard for me. I feel so bad for you, this year has been not very kind. I just wanted you to know I was thinking about you past couple days. You have always been one of my favorites. I will be trying to send soothing vibes your way. Hang in there girl, the rowdy ones always seem to have a bumpy trip, but that is what makes us so loveable. We have to keep on trucking and kicking butt girl. By the way, I did get my riff notice in June, and now work at W.C.U. in the Admissions Dept. doing computer stuff, 3 floors down from Dina. My e-mail address at work is attached to this message, feel free to rattle my cage. Take care of yourself. Love, Mark

Karen,
I was thinking about what I would say to you if I had been able to attend the funeral. These were the words that came to my mind. "When you are done being mad at God for Tab's death I hope you can open your heart to Him and feel His comfort" Karen, you know me and I am not the preacher type or the pushy Christian... these words must have been meant for you.
When mom died everybody said "Let me know if there is anything I can do" Well, of course there was rarely anything they could do since they couldn't bring mom back but it did help to hear. So... If I can do anything or just listen, please don't hesitate to call. 828-350-9626
PS
Hopefully this does not appear twice. The first time I put it in a hit a button and it was gone...Someday that will bring a smile...

Dear Barrett Family,
It is with much sorrow that I write this condolence and can only pray for your comfort in this time. Tab was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed by many people.
Please keep in mind that he touched many people while in Aiken and although I only knew him for a few months, I was touched by his honesty and gentle nature both as a fellow employee and as a friend. We had grown close in the short time that we worked together and I for one will miss him dearly. I only wish that I would have had more time to get to know him but am thankful for the time I did have with him.
Again, please accept my condolences and may the Lord Jesus Christ be with you during this time.

Karen and boys,
so sorry to hear of your loss, I always enjoyed working with Tab at Emerson years ago. We recently ran into each other on the ball field in Murphy about 2 years ago and it was a great reunion for us to catch up. Our family will be in prayer for yours. If we can help please feel free to call on me.

We are so sorry to hear about your families loss. Ed always considered Tab as being one of his boys during his coaching years. Being our neighbors over at Mooreview when the Barrett boys were growing up and then later on having you and Tab as neighbors with your young boys growing up. Anyway, you all are in our prayers and we are so very sorry for your loss.

Growing up together, I remember Tab as being very athletic, very friendly and a terrific friend. I will always remember playing backyard everything with Tab and Tim and how it was always a treat to get to spend time with them. I remember playing little league baseball with Tab and on into High School. He was a upper classman that was fun to be around.
I am so saddened by this loss.
